As we continue our planning process for our films, we first are exploring different genre options. The genre of a movie is a key element in the film making process considering that the genre will determine the type of plot, camera work, and conventions being used. My teammates and I constructed a list of various genres we would consider for our own film product. These are the ones we stated: Action, Crime, horror, Adventure, Musical, animated, romance, comedy, Science fiction, Drama, Thriller, fantasy, western, and historical. We looked at this list and took note of what each of these genre's conventions would require. For instance, costume hair and makeup for western movies we could get very creative with and incorporate artiness in. Additionally, for horror we could use props like a bat and use fake blood. In Crime we could use handcuffs. After a long thought process, we narrowed down our list to drama, horror, and crime.
