Codes in film analysis target audience.

The target audience of a film is who the production is aiming at to consume their product. A target audience can be mainstream or niche. Creating a target audience can be vary on multiple things like demographics and Psychographics. Demographics focuses on a groups age, gender, sexuality, etc. while psychographics focus on a group's interests, beliefs, values, etc. In this assignment my teammates and I analyzed the target audience we think the production aimed this film product at. The film we used is titled "secret obsession". This movie has a niche audience. What led us tom this conclusion was that the movie focus on specific messages and issues like domestic violence, stalking, manipulation, and dealing with a maracaists. These messages are not things that most people generally go through in their everyday lives, but some people do so we said that this movie has a niche audience. The demographics are women ages 18-35 of all races but specifically women in romantic relationships or that are married.

Hey everyone this is my first post on my blog! To me, media studies are the way to learn about how the media has changed and evolved, how media is used today, and all the effects that it has had in our society. The things that I have learned so far have impacted the way I perceive or consume media products. It made me stop and think about all the codes and marketing strategies etc. that I have somehow never paid much attention to or noticed. It helps me digest the world differently. Media studies have so far taught me the importance of understanding how the media is used to engage audiences.      What I hope to get out of the experience of learning media studies is generating a basic understanding of how media affects me and how I can apply to know those skills to my soon adult/career life.  Production Design  Production design is the overall visual look or aesthetic of a story. There are different factors that make up production design in a movie including setting, set design, and props. These three contribute greatly to the overall feel the audience decodes. The role that setting plays is showing the importance of the place the movie takes place in to the plot. Set design can also widely contribute to the feelings of the characters in the scene and props do this also. The production designer is responsible for production design. It is significant to audience because it helps convey deeper meaning for the audience to decode. The primary purpose of production design is to create a mood, articulate themes, and eternalizes the state of a character.
