Costume, Hair, and Makeup

Costume, Hair, and Makeup is a big part in showcasing to the audience important details they'll need to understand the plot in a film. It also brings the actions and storyline to life. In order to accurately portray the story that is being told the actors must look like what the scene is showing. For example, a ski instructor in a film would not be wearing a tank top and flip flops, they would have on protective gear and warm clothing. Makeup especially plays a great role in bringing the story to life because it can show how the character is feeling in a shot. I put together two examples of costume, hair, and makeup conveying a message to the audience. In the pictures down below a woman who has obviously been hurt is shown. Her makeup shows bruising, blood, and inflammation in her face. Bandages are wrapped around her head and nose these paints to the reader that the woman has gone through a trauma. the makeup in the picture also reveals an internal idea of how she is feeling. the character looks beat up and warn out and this is an accurate representation of what she feels inside currently.
