Psychographics

Psychographics is a wide range of people's interest, personality traits, attitudes, values/beliefs, and lifestyles. Psychographics are often used to help build a portfolio and target a specific type of audience. Using psychographics is an essential part of product creation in order to market it well in order for the product to do well when it's put out. In this example that I will be using we will be specifically talking about a film product. Earlier in the year my team and I completed a film analysis of a drama about a woman being kidnapped. We concluded that the target audience in the values/belief category would be people who have a "trusting your gut" belief system for various reasons. Throughout the film the woman decided to ignore every red flag or alarming things she discovered about her soon to be husband until it was too late. The husband had already carried out his plan of kidnapping her and murdering everyone who was previously close to her. The woman could have avoided the predicament she was in had she trusted her gut the first few times she had a bad feeling. People who believe in this value would be attracted to this type of movie so it would be a psychographic for the marketing team to consider.

I would like to be able to break down certain media pieces to interpret them and respond or react accordingly. Some of the media I consume on the daily basis include social media, prin...

The role that setting plays is showing the importance of the place the movie takes place in to the plot. It is significant to audience because it helps convey deeper meaning for the audience to decode.
